Everyone celebrates growth.

Everyone celebrates growth.

New sales. New clients. New customers.

But here’s a truth most won’t admit:

Growth doesn’t matter if your best clients feel like an afterthought.

Retention isn’t just a metric—it’s the foundation of a thriving business.

Here’s an example:

Over the holidays, I came across a newspaper clipping in the New York Times that mentioned a trend directly tied to one of my client’s industries.

I physically cut it out and sent it to my client with a little note:

“This made me think of you—excited to see how you’ll make waves in 2025!”

The result?

My client called me on January 2nd to say they truly appreciated the gesture and how much it stood out.

Not only that, we started discussing how we might work together to implement what the story mentioned.

This whole effort took about 5 minutes of my time and meant the world to my client.

So, what about you?

What’s the most unconventional thing you’ve done to build trust and loyalty with your existing clients?

Not the generic “check-ins” or standard playbook moves.

I’m talking about something bold. Memorable.

The kind of action that made your clients say:

“This is different.”

Let’s hear it.
