The best teams in the world don’t wait until they’re losing to get better.

A while back, I worked with two of the premier sports franchises in North America.

Both had just come off incredible seasons. One even won it all.

They could have coasted.

Instead, they called and hired me to help improve customer loyalty, the in-game experience, and season ticket retention.

That’s what impressed me most.

These are organizations that sell out every year and still ask, “How can we make the experience even better?”

The room was full of young, hungry, sharp people in their 20s.

Their leaders were listening, not lecturing.

Training wasn’t an event. It was a habit.

When we ran roleplays, one executive jumped up first and said, “I love roleplaying.”

And they weren’t joking.

Every person leaned in. Every exercise turned into a lesson.

That’s what separates world-class teams from everyone else.

They don’t chase flashy ideas or wait for a crisis to start improving.

They keep doing the work even when it’s working.

They keep asking questions long after others have stopped.

That’s how you stay on top and keep widening the gap.

What’s something you’re already doing well that you could double down on to make world-class?
