I Almost Stepped on a Gator Today.
I’m in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
We’ve been coming here for years—more than a dozen times. It’s like a cottage vacation for our family.
We know the gators are here. We’ve seen the warning signs everywhere.
But the gators? They’re still around.
No fences. No barriers. Just prehistoric predators lurking in the grass, waiting for the right moment.
And today?
I damn near stepped on one.
Here’s the thing about gators:
They don’t chase. They wait.
They sit motionless for hours. They let their prey get comfortable. And when the moment is right…they strike.
The best businesses operate the same way:
• They don’t fight every battle.
• They don’t react to every little thing.
• They wait, they watch, and when the time is right, they move fast and take what’s theirs.
Are you running your business like an alligator?
Or are you just splashing around, hoping not to get eaten?
